These terms apply when you buy from Events Palour through eventspalour.co.za, our Payhip store, or a PayFast or PayPal payment link. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act).
1. Who we are
- Seller: Kabelo Chabalala trading as Events Palour (sole proprietor)
- Physical address: 820 Saliehout Street, Pretoria, 0182
- Address for service of legal documents: 820 Saliehout Street, Pretoria, 0182
- Email: hello@eventspalour.co.za
- Website: https://eventspalour.co.za
2. What we sell
- Printables (digital downloads): PDF planners and checklists, such as the 18-page Event Planner Binder and the free Event Countdown Checklist, in A4 and US Letter sizes. No physical item is posted. Each product page describes what is included.
- Digital invitations (pilot service): personalised invitation designs, and on some packages an event web page with online RSVPs. The packages and what each includes are listed on our Shop page.
Designs on our site are samples with fictional details. Colours may vary slightly between screens and printers.
3. Prices and VAT
- Prices are shown on the product page or in your quote, and include every cost. Printables are sold through Payhip and priced in US dollars (USD). Your bank or PayPal converts the amount to rand and may charge its own conversion fee. Invitations are priced in rand (ZAR).
- VAT: Events Palour is not registered for VAT. We do not charge South African VAT, our prices include no VAT, and we cannot issue VAT (tax) invoices.
- If you buy a printable from the EU, the UK, the USA or Canada, Payhip may add the local VAT or sales tax at checkout. Payhip collects and pays that tax under those countries' rules.
- Invitation pilot prices apply to our first 10 invitation orders only and may change after that. The price confirmed at checkout or in your quote is the price you pay.
4. Placing an order
Before you pay, the checkout page (Payhip, PayFast or PayPal) shows your order and the total. You can review it, correct mistakes or leave without buying. The order is placed only when you confirm payment. You will receive an email confirmation that you can keep as a full record of your purchase. If you lose it, email us for a copy.
5. Payment and payment security
We accept payment through:
- Payhip (printables): checkout via PayPal or the other options Payhip shows;
- PayFast (invitations, in rand): the card, EFT and other methods PayFast shows at checkout;
- PayPal, where offered.
Payments are processed on the providers' own encrypted pages. We never see or store your full card or bank login details, only your name, email, order details and payment confirmation. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle this information.
Invitation orders: full payment is due once you accept our quote, before we start work. We don't take deposits.
6. Delivery
- Printables: available for instant download from Payhip straight after payment, with a download link emailed to you.
- Invitations: delivered by email (image files, a print-ready PDF and any event page link). Turnaround times start once you have paid and approved your brief:
- Invite: 24 to 48 hours
- Invite + RSVP: 3 working days
- Full Guest Hub: 5 working days
We will tell you promptly about any unavoidable delay. If we don't deliver within the agreed time (or 30 days if none was agreed), you may cancel by giving us 7 days' written notice.
7. Cancellations, cooling-off and refunds
Printables: Under section 44 of the ECT Act you may cancel within 7 days of receiving your download, without giving a reason, for a full refund. Email hello@eventspalour.co.za with your order number. We will refund you within 30 days through the payment method you used. After a refund, you must delete the files and stop using them.
Invitations: Invitations are made to your specifications and personalised for your event, so the 7-day cooling-off right in the ECT Act does not apply once we start work at your request. Instead:
- Before we start designing: cancel for a full refund.
- After we start, before final delivery: cancel and we refund 50% of what you paid, to cover the design work already done. If you have to cancel because the person the event was for has died or been hospitalised, we refund you in full instead.
- After final delivery: no refunds for a change of mind. Your rights in section 8 still apply.
Returns: There is nothing physical to return. Refunds are paid back through the original payment method.
8. If something is wrong
If a download is faulty (for example, it won't open, pages are missing or it isn't as described), email us. At your choice, we will replace it or refund you. You have 6 months to do this, as the CPA provides.
If an invitation service is not done to the quality you are entitled to expect, we will fix it. If we cannot, we will refund a fair part of the price.
9. Invitation orders: how it works
- Brief: you send us your event details, wording and any photos.
- Proof and revisions: we send you a proof. Each package includes a set number of revision rounds (Invite 1, Invite + RSVP 2, Full Guest Hub 3). Extra rounds or major changes to an approved brief may cost extra, and we will quote you first. Each extra revision round costs R100.
- Approval: you check all names, dates, times and venues before approving. We are not responsible for errors in details you approved.
- Your content: you confirm that you have the right to use any photos, logos and text you send us. We do not use copyrighted characters (for example Disney or Marvel) or other people's artwork without permission.
- RSVPs: on RSVP packages, guests reply on your event page. Only share the link with invited guests, and keep the guest list we send you safe. RSVP data is deleted 30 days after the event (see our Privacy Policy).
- Pilot orders: pilot prices do not depend on portfolio use. We will only show your design in our portfolio if you tick this separate, optional box on your quote or order: "Optional: You may show my invitation design in your portfolio (personal details removed)." If you tick it, we remove or replace names, dates, venues and any other personal details, and you can withdraw your permission at any time by emailing us. We will only publish a testimonial if you choose to give one and agree to its use.
10. Licence and intellectual property
Our designs, templates and printables remain Events Palour's copyright.
- Printables: when you buy one, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to download, print and use it for your own events, as many times as you like. You may not resell, share, upload, redistribute or claim it as your own, or use it for commercial purposes.
- Invitations: you may use your finished invitation and event page for your event, and share them with your guests in any way you like.
11. Our responsibility to you
Please read this section carefully. We take reasonable care with everything we make.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for:
- indirect losses (such as lost profits or event costs) caused by our ordinary negligence;
- problems caused by third-party services outside our control (such as payment providers, email or WhatsApp);
- errors in details you approved.
- Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to the amount you paid for the product or service concerned.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence, or excludes or limits any right you have under the CPA or other law.
